TIMEA ANITA ORAVECZ

 Blank Out, 2017
Digital printing on Billboard
450 x 304 cm
installation view, Cúcuta, Colombia
project Juntos a Parte
a part of the BIENALSUR, the 1st Art Biennial of South America

In a previous work, Oravecz presented his personal visa for foreigners in a giant public poster in Budapest (Hungary) as the winner of the public competition of the Studio of Young Artists Association FKSE (Study of the Association of Young Artists). Her piece received a warning from the Budapest Council saying that the billboard was "threatening" and needed to be demolished immediately, being completely painted black as an act of censorship.
The intention of the artist with Blank Out is to make a reversal of a work classified as threatening, linking her personal protest to censorship in Hungary with attention to the current migratory context between Colombia and Venezuela.
