Wishes are flying up to the stars, 2010
Video documentation of the performance, 02:20 min.

Together with Kiezhaus women, I organized workshops and performances involving the inhabitants of Marzahn. Vietnamese women organized a collective workshop revolving around the idea of traditional flying lights. Participants in the workshop and exhibition visitors made lanterns in the form of stars and wrote their wishes on cards that were then attached to them.
In a performance that was held at the Marzahner Promenade, the stars were bound to helium balloons and released into the skies so that they could find a place among real stars and be seen from Vietnam.
This performance was meant to build an imaginary bridge in order to emotionally connect the participants with their friends and family in their homeland.
