TIMEA ANITA ORAVECZ

 Private Paradise, 2018
Photographic print, vintage window (1860 ca.), led light, staircase
Dimension variable

The problem of the reconquest of a harmonious relationship with the natural environment and therefore of an ideal return to paradise is represented by Oravecz in the two jobs Private Paradise I and Private Paradise II. In these two installations, a wooden staircase leads to a window behind which you can see images of some of the beautiful Colombian landscapes.
The scale theme, used by Oravecz in other works, refers to some beliefs rooted in the Hungarian culture and a shamanic view of the world, divided into three spheres communicated through a scale that can be travelled by the shaman.
The staircase and the window are at the same time an escape and access door, or even more simply the means to ideally restore communication and balance between one world and another.
